Long-distance flight essentials
Hey loves! So as you probably already know, I have been in Poland for five whole weeks. Talk about homesick. And the day after tomorrow (Wednesday the 22nd), I'm finally coming back! As excited as I am, that means 18+ hours traveling...yay me. By now I've traveled to Poland and back countless times, which means that I am sort of a long-distance expert, and I can show those of you who don't like traveling that it can really be an enjoyable experience! :)
First of all, when traveling, it is key to be comfortable. But remember that dressing a little cuter doesn't hurt, and rather always helps to bring your mood up and feel less plane-gross. Usually I fly in sweats or lululemon leggings, but if you own comfy jeans like Abercrombie & Fitch's Cara Jean Legging, you'll still be very comfortable and will feel more put together. They come in a bunch of cute colors and they are soooo soft. I wore those when I was flying to Poland with a Juicy Couture top and big navy Abercrombie sweater. This time, I will be wearing patterned lululemon leggings, a black J. Crew tank, and the same navy sweater. As for shoes, I always travel in Birkenstocks, because I find them very comfy and super quick to take off/put back on. That helps because as soon as I get on the plane, I like to shed the shoes and put on fuzzy socks :). Here is a picture of Wednesday's outfit in case you need traveling (or just normal) outfit inspo:
Another quite important aspect of traveling is packing. Now, I have no packing skill at all. In fact, I usually need the help of my mom in fitting everything in my suitcase, as I have a tendency to (not)slightly overpack. I just always think it's better to have more things and not wear all of them than to run out and be completely unprepared, you know? When you are packing and hesitate on whether to bring an item or not, ALWAYS BRING IT. Believe me, if you can't make up your mind and decide to leave it, you will regret it majorly.
Whether you are traveling to California or Iceland, always remember to bring things for both cold and warm weather. No matter where you go, you will likely be slightly unprepared either way, but I've been to quite a few places and now I always remember exactly what to bring. Going to the beach? Bring a cardigan, the nights tend to be very chilly and windy. Flying to Europe? An umbrella and rain jacket are musts. Traveling to New York? Don't forget your Birkenstocks, flats, or whatever other comfy shoes you have; believe me, you'll regret not bringing them if you plan on walking at all.
Lastly, here are some more than very useful traveling items:

Lastly, here are some more than very useful traveling items:
- Earphones (and)or headphones. I always need to bring both because I have very sensitive ears, and can't stand either for more than 30 minutes at a time :).
- Fuzzy socks for the plane. Keeping your toes warm makes you both warm and comfy.
- A cardigan or hoodie. Planes have a tendency to overdo the AC.
- A good book or magazine. Movies get boring after 5 hours nonstop watching.
- Something other to do, like nail polish for painting your nails. I'm pretty sure you can bring it on a plane (I've always wanted to but never have), and it would definitely help you to relax and kill the time.
- A companion! Traveling alone is not as fun. And who better to see the world with if not your best girlfriend??!
I hope you all enjoyed this long (but helpful?) post. I really wanted to share some traveling tips for those who need them as much as I did 5-6 years ago haha. Everything I listed here is truly a good way to stay sane after being on a plane for over 10 hours. Let me know if you have any tips for me down in the comments, I'd appreciate them a lot before my flight on Wednesday.
Bon voyage, loves!
