New year's resolutions

Hey guys! Happy 2017!!! I would say something along the lines of "You don't even understand how glad I am that 2016 is over" but from what I've heard, this whole year has sucked for everyone just as much as it did for me...

Nevertheless, I'll be looking back on the happy memories, rather than the not-so-happy ones, and beginning 2017 on a positive note! There is so much to look forward to -- end of high school, beginning of college, my eighteenth birthday... I am so excited I can hardly wait :)

For my first post of the new year, I wanted to both look back on last year's resolutions, as well as make new ones. Now, I did not accomplish each of my goals for 2016, but to be fair I had 12 (!!) and some were frankly quite unrealistic.

I'm not going to focus on the 6 that I did not achieve, but rather I will share the 6 that I did keep, so as to motivate me to keep my new ones, too.

(1) I improved my French, (2) I blogged regularly, (3) I travelled - only one road trip but that counts, (4) I became more financially responsible/self-sufficient, (5) I got my license, and (6) I finally perfected walking in heels.

This year, I wanted to go about the whole resolution-making process differently. Rather than making ones that were either insignificant, not in my control, or unrealistic, I'm making ones that are fully attainable if I work for them.

So, without further ado, here are my 2017 new year's resolutions!

(1) Start seeing therapist about my anxiety.
(2) Graduate and choose a good college.
(3) Always be reading a book.

I hope that this post might have inspired some of your resolutions (and that it will keep me in check and actually help me to accomplish all three of mine!).

Thank you for reading and I hope this year is your best yet!

xxo, J
